Annual joint event with the Wilfred Owen Association was held at Waterstone's Bookshop, 82 Gower St. in Bloomsbury, London. A buffet lunch was followed by two talks - Speakers were Sam Gray 'Letters between Sassoon and Owen' & Dr Azucena Keatley 'How to fix a comet: Sassoon and Owen'.
|25 January 2018 7:30pm||'Songs of War' at St.James's Church, Piccadilly, London. A concert with readings of World War 1 poems presented by the Wilfred Owen Association & the Robert Graves Society, to commemorate the centenary of the wedding at the church of Robert Graves & Nancy Nicholson, at which Wilfred Owen was a guest.|
|16 September 2017||SSF Annual General Meeting held at St.Paul's Church Centre in Hills Road, Cambridge. Speakers included Anne Penton talking about her great uncle David Cuthbert Thomas and Kayleigh Fitzgerald on W.H.R. Rivers.|
|18 August 2017||When 'Wilfred met Siegfried'. Commemorating the centenary of the first meeting of Owen & Sassoon at the Craiglockhart Military Hospital, now part of the Napier University in Edinburgh. Readings by Sam Gray, David Wilson and Yvonne Morris. For details see Napier University Website|

|3 June 2017||SSF jointly hosted the very well attended Alliance of Literary Societies Conference, held in The Rivers Suite at the Craiglockhart Campus of Napier University in Edinburgh. Main speakers were Professor Alistair McCleery of the University on 'The First World War and the Scottish Novel' and Professor Hazel Hutchinson from the University of Aberdeen with 'Whistling Over the Fields: Soundscapes of War'.
