Saturday March 31st  We hope to repeat the success of last year's joint London meeting with the Wilfred Owen Association by holding another similar event at The Lamb, a historic pub in Bloomsbury.  This year, Jon Stallworthy and Jane Potter will be talking about their work on the new Penguin edition of Three Poets of the Great War (Owen, Rosenberg, Gurney) which came out last Remembrance weekend, and which is dedicated to the memory of Vivien Noakes (and passionately recommended by Tim Kendall in his war poetry blog - war-poets.blogspot.com). There is an additional treat in the form of the baritone Philip Lancaster, who will be singing some Gurney songs. Details of  prices, etc, to follow shortly.

Until August 2012  Siegfried's notebook on horse-care is included in 'War Horse:Fact & Fiction' an exhibition to accompany Spielberg's film of the Michael Morpurgo book 'War Horse'.  The exhibition continues until August 2012 at the National Army Museum, Royal Hospital Road, Chelsea.

SSF's Sam Gray reported that the exhibition was well worth a visit. The Sassoon exhibit featured little notebooks from his time as transport officer and there is a double page of instructions to farriers how to deal with various equine ailments, in his familiar handwriting and quite legible.
